Guest Post: Half Hollow Hills Wellness Fair and 5k Run 11/3
I’m happy to present 1Quest2theNext’s first ever Guest Post! Please welcome Long Island’s own Meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles – sharing exciting news about upcoming weekend family fun!
Hello Long Island!
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Meredith, from the health and fitness blog, The Cookie ChRUNicles.
Jason was kind enough to let me take over today’s post with some information regarding the Half Hollow Hills Wellness Fair and 5k Run that will take place Sunday, November 3, 2013.
Can you believe October is almost over and that we are already talking about November activities?
The Half Hollow Hills School District, together with their PTA Council, have put together quite a Wellness event, sponsored by Stat Health of Deer Park.
In addition to a 5K race (LITF Certified Course), there will be a Family Fun Run and a Wellness Fair featuring awesome local vendors, brands and stores.
- Stat Health will be offering free blood pressure and glucose screenings
- Cross Fit Gym will be on hand with live demonstrations
- The New York Islanders Game Operations booth will be set up with fun activities and giveaways
Other local vendors that will be at the fair include IMX Pilates, Hand & Stone Massage, Heart Beet Cafe, New York Sports Club and many more!
And if this isn’t enough to bring you into Dix Hills for the morning, how about raffles, giveaways and a goody bag? Did I mention that Schneider’s Farmer’s Market along with their fresh produce will be in attendance as well?
Since I am all about good food, may I also mention that I am looking forward to the bagels from Bagel Factory and Met-RX Protein Bars in the goody bags.
All race registrants will receive this year’s signature Half Half Hollow Hills Wellness Run t-shirt (I have already seen the shirt and it is awesome!) and all kids that participate in the fun run will take home a medal.
Top overall male and female race finishers will receive a medal and a gift basket. There will also be medals awarded to first, second and third place finishers in each age group.
Click here for a link to the registration information. Early registration for the race ends October 26th.
I am all about getting out there for a good run, especially when the kids get a chance too!
Hope to see you there!
